Waste-to-energy (WtE) is key to urban solid waste reduction and carbon neutrality. Yet its harsh operating environment—high temperatures, corrosive flue gas, and frequent cycling—demands valves with exceptional sealing, corrosion resistance, and rapid response.
At the Shenzhen Energy Environmental Protection Bao’an Phase III WtE Plant, SDF supplied over 1,400 valves, including main steam motorized gate valves, high-pressure feedwater globe valves, quick-closing check valves, and steam traps. These products not only successfully replaced originally planned imports from Europe and the U.S., but also demonstrated superior reliability and longer service life in real-world operation.

SDF has optimized materials and sealing designs specifically for WtE applications, validated by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity under extreme thermal gradients. The company now serves leading EPCs like Grandblue Environment, China Everbright International, and Capital Environment, establishing itself as the preferred domestic supplier in this high-growth sector.
In CSP demonstration projects across Qinghai and Gansu, heat transfer fluids operate continuously at over 550°C and 25MPa. Historically, such premium valves were almost entirely imported—costly, slow to deliver, and difficult to service.
In 2015, SDF delivered Z961Y-P54170V high-temperature motorized gate valves and J961Y-P54170V globe valves for a trough-type CSP project by Beijing Zhaoyang Solar Thermal Technology Co., Ltd. Forged from specialty alloys and featuring SDF’s proprietary metal-seated hard seal technology, these valves fully comply with ASME B16.34 and have passed thermal shock tests from -29°C to +600°C.
This milestone marked SDF’s first successful domestic substitution in ultra-supercritical valve applications—a vital contribution to China’s “import replacement” national strategy.
Beyond hardware, SDF is pioneering the integration of AI and industrial software. The company is developing the world’s first large AI model dedicated to hydrogen valve selection, and simultaneously advancing smart valve positioners through in-house R&D.
These next-gen positioners will support multi-protocol communication (HART, FIELDBUS, Industrial Bluetooth, Industrial Ethernet). Core components—including I/P converters and magnetic feedback sensors—are being co-developed by an international team in Singapore, with total investment exceeding USD 5 million. The goal: disrupt the dominance of ABB, Fisher, and Siemens in the high-end positioner market within three years.
