Integrated ISO 5211 Automation Interface: Features a cast-in direct mounting pad that allows electric or pneumatic actuators to bolt directly to the valve without external brackets, eliminating backlash and simplifying field automation.
Linear Throttling Profile: The coaxial plug-and-seat geometry delivers exceptionally smooth and repeatable flow regulation across its entire stroke range, preventing pipeline pressure surges.
Stellite™ Hard-Faced Sealing Trim: The primary wetted trim parts are heavily overlaid with cobalt-based alloys, protecting the valve against erosion, high pressure drops, and frictional galling.
Standardized Flanged Connection Boundary: Precision-machined ASME Class 150 or PN16/PN40 flanges ensure high structural joint rigidity and complete sealing integrity across global industrial piping systems.

The SDF Flanged Automation Globe Valve is highly recommended for process regulation and utility throttling networks that require regular remote control adjustment:
Automated Utility Steam Throttling: Controls continuous heat exchanger steam feeds, steam tracing lines, and boiler auxiliary distribution manifolds.
Chemical Treatment Dosing Loops: Serves as a reliable automated control node for regulating the flow of chemical reagents, acids, and alkaline process mixtures.
Industrial Feedwater Regulation: Deployed on boiler feedwater pumps and water purification loops to execute continuous closed-loop level and flow adjustments.
Refinery & Process Skids: Ideal for compact modular skids handling hydrocarbon fuels, hot oils, and volatile gases where tight space and precise automation are required.
Because globe valves are linear-acting components that seal against full pipeline pressure differentials, the actuator must overcome significant fluid forces when closing the plug down onto the seat. When choosing an electric actuator for the ISO 5211 pad, select a multi-turn actuator capable of handling these high thrust requirements. Always apply a 30% to 40% torque safety margin over the valve's standard dry breakaway torque to ensure reliable, tight shut-off under maximum pipeline pressure drops.
Always install the flanged globe valve with the process flow matching the directional arrow cast into the outer body shell.
For typical liquid and standard utility lines, the medium must flow from underneath the plug. This orientation lets upstream pressure assist the actuator in lifting the plug, prevents water hammer shocks during closing, and completely isolates the stem packing from line pressure when the valve is tightly closed.
For high-pressure steam services over 6", flow-over-the-plug configurations may be specified if a balanced plug is used to assist with automated manual closure.
Do not size your globe valve to match the pipeline size if the valve will operate continuously at less than 10% of its full stroke. Forcing high-pressure fluid through a tiny fractional opening generates intense high-velocity fluid jetting directly across the seats. This concentrated velocity causes rapid cavitation erosion and wire-drawing, which can quickly ruin the precision-ground sealing surfaces. If low flow rates are required, calculate the exact values and select a reduced-trim model.
Although the Stellite™ hard-faced trim provides exceptional protection against wear, high-speed foreign particulates—like loose welding slag, sand, or rust flakes—can still score the precision-polished sealing surfaces. For automated micro-throttling applications, always install a Y-Strainer upstream of the globe valve to capture particulates and ensure long-term, bubble-tight sealing performance.
