Smart valve positioners represent critical control components in valve systems, long dominated by Western brands like ABB, Siemens, and Fisher. SDF is now spearheading indigenous R&D efforts to overcome this technological bottleneck.
Key components targeted for development include I/P converters, pneumatic amplifiers, linear feedback elements (magnetic strips), and core control boards.
The company plans to launch fully self-developed smart positioners by 2026, featuring 50% lower failure rates compared to international benchmarks. "Our goal is to provide domestic industries with reliable, cost-effective automation solutions," explained SDF's R&D Director. "This breakthrough will strengthen China's position in industrial control systems."
Having already achieved domestic substitution in main steam, feedwater, drain, and extraction systems, SDF's smart positioner development will further cement its leadership in power plant valve technology.
